Gun Ranges

What's Involved?

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining gun ranges- Repairing target stands, cleaning up garbage at benches, maintaining shooting benches​

  • Policing the gun ranges- It is the duty of every member of the Green Island Rod & Gun Club to police each other on Club grounds. If you see someone doing something unsafe or against club rules, confront them or take a picture of them and their license plate and contact a director or officer

Equipment

  • Shooting benches- Benches located inside and next to the rifle range shooting house to sight in firearms

  • Target stands- Wooden frames with belting material in the middle use to staple paper targets to

  • Metal targets- Silhouette and hanging targets at the 200 yd berm

  • Berms- Mounds of dirt at 50yds, 100yds, 200yds used for back stops 

Rules

  • ABSOLUTEY NO ALCOHOL USE PRIOR TO OR DURING USE OF GUN RANGE

  • All guns when not in use or someone is down range, must have actions open and safeties on placed on the gun racks on the back wall

  • Please do your best to hit your targets and miss the target frames

  • Always shoot in a safe direction. Safety is the most important rule on the gun range
